Psychologist
I am registered as a general psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, I am an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society and I am also a registered provider of psychological services with Medicare Australia, TAC and many Private Health Insurers. I have worked in varied clinical settings over the last 16 years, including inpatient services, rehabilitation and private practice, with a variety of different client groups. My areas of interest are:

I am trained in a range of different theoretical interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Mindfulness also makes up a significant part of my practice. I utilise these interventions based on the specific goals of each client.
I see the therapy process as a collaborative journey, assisting clients to move through and grow from the challenges they face, while developing meaningful strategies to cope with adversity in the future.
I work with individuals aged 16 years and above.
Sessions
Each session runs for approximately 50 minutes. It is requested that parents do not bring children to appointments as we are unable to supervise them outside the room and having children in the room during consultations can compromise treatment. Payment is required at the conclusion of each session.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend a session, we ask that you give at least 24 hours notice to allow another client to access that appointment time. A cancellation fee of $60 will be charged if less than 24 hours notice is given.
GP Mental Health Care Plans
Rebates from Medicare are available for up to ten sessions per calendar year, provided that your GP has completed a GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). You can discuss with your GP whether a MHCP would be appropriate for you. Rebates can also be accessed from some private health insurance providers, this of course depends on your level of cover, so please speak with your health insurer for further information.
After Hours Appointments
After hours appointments are available at an increased fee, please enquire with the reception staff.
Location and Parking
We are located at 126 Gheringhap Street, Geelong, on the corner of McKillop Street. The practice is co-located with Geelong Ophthalmology and is clearly signed from the street. Ample parking is available on the street and the building is wheelchair accessible.
